Set up safe places

When a delivery does not need a signature, the customer chooses where the parcel may be left — the Leave my Parcel options on the booking form. That list is maintained here.

Before you start

Decide the wording the customer should see, and where in the list it belongs — entries display in Sequence order, highest number first.

Steps

  1. Go to Admin ManagerSystemJob SettingsSignature not Required.
  2. Click an entry to change it, or use the + control to add one.
  3. Fill in the form:
    • Name — the option as the customer sees it (e.g. “Front door”).
    • SMS Name — a short form of the same thing.
    • Require Courier Notes — tick if choosing this option must come with a note for the driver.
    • Sequence — position in the list; higher numbers appear first.
    • Category — where the entry is offered (see the open questions on this page).
    • Notes — internal notes.
  4. Press SAVE.

Good to know

Keep Signature Required at (or near) the top of the sequence so it is the first thing a customer sees — the live list is arranged exactly that way, and the booking form defaults to it. Not every entry here reaches the customer: the booking form shows a short customer-facing subset, while the rest of the list serves internal use.

If something goes wrong

An option is not showing on the booking form. Check its Category — the form only offers the customer-facing subset — and its Sequence.

Options are in a strange order. The list follows Sequence, highest first. Renumber rather than renaming.

Open questions
  • What values Category accepts and exactly where each puts the entry — the booking form shows a small subset of the full list, which fits the retiring help docs' claim that Category decides visibility (customer-facing vs internal), but the values were not read from the control.
  • Where SMS Name is used — presumably the shortened form in text messages; not observed.
  • What Require Courier Notes forces on the driver's side; not observed.
  • Create and save were not exercised (read-only walk).
